Lookout recruits EMEA partner director

Mobile security vendor Lookout has appointed former FireEye European channel manager Jamie Andrews to lead its channel distribution strategy in EMEA.

EMEA partner director Andrews (pictured) will be responsible for overseeing Lookout’s channel growth across EMEA, and help drive its expansion into the large enterprise market.

Lookout’s cloud-based, predictive security platform draws on machine intelligence and continuous security telemetry from more than 60m devices worldwide to identify both evolving and unknown threats.

The vendor points out that in contrast to many other SaaS companies, Lookout exclusively focuses on distribution via “a select number” of VARs, systems integrators and distributors in the region.

“We are looking to work with a select number of skilled partners with experience in mobility and security to help us deliver the solutions that large enterprises need in order to protect their businesses from emerging mobile threats,” says Andrews.

While the firm says it can’t name any partners or distributors yet, it does claim it differs to other typical start-ups by selling through the channel in EMEA from day one, and refusing to compete with its partners on services.

San Francisco-based Lookout last year recruited Juniper’s former worldwide VP for channels and commercial, David Helfer to head up its worldwide channel development. He refers to Andrews’ experience in the security channel “which will be vital for our enterprise growth across EMEA.”

He adds: “As mobile devices become the predominant computing tool at work, they are fast becoming one of the weakest links in the enterprise IT security ecosystem. Protection that tackles this issue provide a key new growth area, and we’re really excited to collaborate with the VAR community to solve this challenge for enterprises in EMEA.”

Lookout’s UK office is based in Soho, London.
