NetSuite parades Sage partner signing

Cloud computing

NetSuite (NYSE: N) has claimed a scalp in its high-profile war on Sage with the signing of IT consultancy Ciber UK.

Cyber UK is adding NetSuite’s cloud-based ERP and business management suite to its existing product portfolio of on-premise solutions from SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor and Sage, it says to meet the growing demands for cloud ERP among businesses in the UK.

“The 100 percent focus on cloud ERP, combined with the breadth of functionality and scale, makes NetSuite the ideal partner when dealing with fast-growing organisations,” comments Ian Robertson, sales director at Ciber UK.

“We’re very excited to partner with NetSuite in a massively growing market, with companies that would rather focus on their business development than managing their in-house IT servers.”

San Mateo-based NetSuite last week ramped up its long-running campaign against on-premise financials and ERP vendors with an advertisement attacking Sage.

Despite its comparative smaller share of the market, the firm has a history of bashing its on-premise rivals.

Earlier this year, NetSuite CEO Zach Nelson laid into Microsoft, SAP and Sage’s growth figures. Speaking about the financial management system (FMS) arena, he said Microsoft’s growth rate of five percent, Sage’s less than one percent growth, and SAP minus 1.45 percent growth, he joked: “These guys give me so much material.”

Headquartered in Hinckley with offices in London, Leicester and Redditch, Ciber UK says it plans to focus on selling, implementing and supporting NetSuite for B2B and B2C ecommerce, SRP, and professional services automation (PSA). It is also developing expertise in the NetSuite OneWorld global business management solution to help guide UK-based multinational firms towards a cloud ERP strategy, including two-tier models that sync NetSuite cloud at the subsidiary or business unit level with an on-premise ERP system in place at headquarters.

“Ciber UK has a long history of innovation and excellence in helping its clients use technology to address business needs and power growth,” says John Campbell, EMEA channel director for NetSuite.

“Our partnership with Ciber UK is a natural fit that we’re confident will drive growth for both companies, while helping customers transform their business operations.”

Ciber UK is one of several IT firms in the UK and EMEA to join the NetSuite Solution Provider Programme – others include ClearERP, Cooper Software and ProCons.

Ciber UK is part of Ciber Inc. (NYSE: CBR), a global IT consulting company with about 6,500 consultants in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, and approximately $1bn in annual business.
